Indiajoy 2018; a big push for global talent and Investors to accelerate Media & Digital Entertainment technology development in India

INDIAJOY 2018 which got underway on Sunday attracted more than 25,000 best business minds and consumers from the Media, Digital Entertainment industry across 8 gigantic halls at HICC and HITEX Expo Center, marking a new era for the AVG (Animation, Visual Effects, and Gaming) industry. The 5-day event supported by Government of Telangana and facilitated by Telangana VFX, Animation & Gaming Association (TVAGA) is divided into B2B area for business, B2C for gamers during December 2nd - 6th.
The event started on a high note as organisers showed tremendous excitement. The five-day event attracted best in business contingent of foreign AVG companies, investors, business executives and professional game enthusiasts from over 30 countries. The first edition of IndiaJoy, the Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference, is conceived in the level of global scale Asian Digital entertainment expo and will be an annual affair beginning this year.

“Indiajoy is a showcase of best talent, promise and potential of the Animation, VFX, Gaming and Digital Entertainment sector holds in the future.” Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Government of Telangana, said.

“This event is our “Digital cum Entertainment” global scale game plan, a big push for global talent and venture capital to accelerate Media & Digital Entertainment technology business into our city. We expect more inward investments in the sector as it has shown tremendous promise and growth outperforming other sectors in recent years” Jayesh Ranjan added.

Besides powerful keynote speakers, delegates walked into IGX experience zone wherein famous gamers and game enthusiasts used the opportunity to experience newest gaming products and accessories. Many more interactive, e-Sports on PC and Mobile games were also on display and for experience.

At the IGX Show the key attractions were the Sony PlayStation experience zone where gamers displayed their skills to play the latest games like Spider-man, God of War and FIFA 19 and step into virtual reality words through PlayStation VR. Learn about careers in game development and interact directly with game design institutes like Arena Multimedia and French design college Ecole Intuit Lab.

At Unite, participants will have an opportunity to engage in creative, interactive learning and have a chance to connect with experts as well as a glimpse of the future. On the other hand India's premier Game Developers Conference IGDC imparts insights, skills, highlight global trends.

Students who attended the events were excited in anticipation to learn about the career opportunities and possibilities for starting up business, said IndiaJoy2018, will help them learn more about the development of animation, VFX and online games.

“We wanted students attending the event an opportunity to explore the career avenues and growth spectrum in AVG industry, which is on high gear right now.” Sridhar Muppidi, VP, TVAGA said.

At the Anthill Ventures and Animation Express investor meet, startups will vie for funds, mentorship and connect with investors. Large number of companies will participate at the meet. The highlights of the Anthill Venture session include a fire chat session by Producer, Actor, Investor and Entrepreneur Rana Daggubati. It was followed by a panel discussion led by Vanga Prasad, Founder Anthil Ventures.

During the daylong event line up Indywood and Pandora Music Fest brought tremendous entertainment quotient for the delegates. While the film fest previewed what is happening in the movie and entertainment business, Pandora Music Fest began with a bang with the best of EDM artists belting the music that kept everyone foot tapping.
