Nordic Game 2018



As the Nordic Game Discovery Contest’s (NGDC) second season comes to a close, hosted by partner events throughout Europe, it’s time to harvest the fruits of the qualifying rounds with the NGDC Grand Finals and Finalist Expo at Nordic Game 2018, 23-25 May in Malmö.



NGDC Grand Finals and Finalist Expo


Fifteen of the sixteen finalists will battle live over two days in the NGDC Season 2 Grand Finals at NG18. They will fight first through the semi-finals on Wednesday, 23 May to come out in the final four for the NGDC Finals on Friday, 25 May.

The sixteen NGDC Season 2 finalists and their games are:

“Yaga” by Breadcrumbs Interactive (Rumania) – qualified at DevPlay, Rumania

“PyroMind” by Dbabicius (Lithuania) – qualified at GameOn, Lithuania

“Lightspeed Frontier” by Crowdwork Studios (Slovenia) – qualified at Slovenian Game Conf., Slovenia

“Drunk-Fu: Wasted Masters” by Rusto (Finland) – qualified at Northern Game Summit, Finland

“Close To The Sun” by Storm in a Teacup (Italy) – qualified at Sweden Game Conference, Sweden

“Go Heroes: Prometheus” by Happyland Ent. (Greece) – qualified at Athens Game Festival, Greece

“Obscuria” by Insiduos Games, (Portugal) – qualified at GameDev Camp, Portugal

“A Place for the Unwilling” by AlPixel Games (Spain) – qualified at AzPlay, Spain

“Age of Space, by PodPal Games (Norway) – qualified at NM I Gameplay, Norway

“Bushy Tail” by Fuero Games (Poland) – qualified at GamesForum London, UK

“Broken Lines” by PortaPlay (Denmark) – qualified at Nordic Game Jam, Denmark

“Second Hand: Frankie’s Revenge” (Rumania) – qualified at Reboot Develop, Croatia

“Youropa” by Frecle (Denmark) – qualified as wild card

“Pode” by Henchman & Goon (Norway) – qualified as wild card

“BOSSGARD” by Sand Sailor Studio (Rumania) – qualified as wild card

Not able to compete in the NGDC Grand Finals at NG18:

“Rock of Ages II: Bigger and Boulder” (Chile) - qualified at Ludicious Festival in Zurich, Switzerland


All fifteen studios competing in Malmö will also be showing their qualifier-winning games in the NGDC Finalist Expo, where the NG18 audience will be able to play all the games, meet with the finest upcoming European development talents and vote for their favorites.
