7 Raven Studios Returns to Its Retro Gaming Roots with Ghost Sweeper for Game Boy Advance

 

7 Raven Studios, in partnership with PIKO Interactive, is excited to announce the launch of its Kickstarter campaign for Ghost Sweeper on Game Boy Advance, marking the beginning of an ambitious new chapter for the veteran game development studio.

Founded in 2006, with development roots stretching back to the SNES and Gameboy era, 7 Raven Studios has been developing games for Nintendo consoles since the early 2000s. Over the years, the studio has expanded its expertise across numerous platforms, including Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Now, 7 Raven Studios is returning to its roots with a new mission: developing commercial-quality video games for classic retro consoles.

With an extensive catalog of original intellectual properties, the studio plans to adapt and develop titles for beloved gaming systems, including the Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and Neo Geo.

Ghost Sweeper: The First Step in a New Retro Gaming Initiative

Leading this initiative is Ghost Sweeper, a colorful action-puzzle platformer originally released for modern gaming platforms.

After centuries of slumber, the Dark Lord has returned, unleashing an army of ghosts, skeletons, haunted pumpkins, and other mischievous creatures upon the kingdom. It's up to the Ghost Sweepers to explore eight unique worlds, discover hidden stages, collect treasures, and defeat the forces of darkness.

The Game Boy Advance version is being developed specifically for Nintendo's classic handheld, bringing the adventure to original hardware with a brand-new physical cartridge release.

The Kickstarter campaign will help fund the game's development and physical production, giving retro gaming enthusiasts the opportunity to support the studio's new direction.

The Kickstarter campaign also features exciting stretch goals to bring Ghost Sweeper to PlayStation 5, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, and Neo Geo AES/MVS. Additional stretch goals include a special physical Nintendo Switch collection featuring four original 7 Raven Studios games: Ghost Sweeper, Rusty Spout, DAMN, and Teppo. These milestones are part of the studio's ambitious initiative to bring its original IPs to both classic and modern gaming platforms.
