gamescom early bird offer very successful: more than 200 exhibitors and 35 group organisers have secured a place at the world’s largest event for computer and video games at discounted rates. This represents an increase of nearly 6 percent compared to the previous year. In terms of exhibition space booked, a very good result of +8 percent was also recorded compared to 2019. The gamescom early bird offer ran until 13 February 2020.

The following leading companies from the international games industry have already registered for gamescom 2020: astragon Entertainment, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bethesda Softworks, Capcom Entertainment, CD PROJEKT RED, ELECTRONIC ARTS, ESL Gaming, Kalypso Media, Koch Media, MediaMarkt, Microsoft / Xbox, My.com, NCSOFT, Nintendo, Sega, THQ Nordic, Twitch, Ubisoft and Wargaming. Hardware segment companies that secured places at the Cologne fair grounds early on include Alternate, AORUS (GIGABYTE), BenQ, Caseking, Corsair, Kingston Technology, MEDION, Omen, Samsung and Trust. Registrations from around 100 merchandise suppliers have also been confirmed. Compared to 2019, this is an increase of over 10 percent.

gamescom indie village will also serve as the perfect platform for indie games this year. Also confirmed as a key feature of the indie village in 2020 on 1500 m² is the Indie Arena Booth, where a wealth of new indie games will be presented.

The expanding international interest of gamescom could already be seen after the first registration phase. In the first few weeks, registrations were received from 29 countries. In addition, country pavilions from Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Great Britain, Canada, Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the US and, for the first time, Denmark have been confirmed. These 16 international pavilions show the growing global interest and increasing international importance of gamescom. As of the early bird reporting date, the increase comes to more than 30 percent compared to 2019.

Last year, gamescom recorded 1,153 international exhibitors from 52 countries. They presented their latest products to 373,000 visitors from over 100 countries on a total area of 218,000 m².
