Nominees of Central & Eastern European Game Awards announced

Central & Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA) proudly announces its nominees for this year’s edition, including 25 games from 11 territories. CEEGA has set itself the objective to create more awareness for the more than 1.000 studios developing videogames in Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). The winners of the eight categories will be announced during a big gala on October 19th hosted by Game Industry Conference (GIC) together with Poznan Game Arena.

“While the CEE region is growing, it is still often an unseen part of the global gaming industry”, says Barbara Grabska from Creepy Jar. “We would like to prove that great games can be born in this part of the world and both we, and this region, have so much yet to show off.” Creepy Jar’s open world survival game Green Hell is nominated alongside three other titles for “best game 2019”. It competes with Thing Trunk’s Book of Demons, a hack & slash deck-building hybrid in which players decide the length of quests, World of Warships: Legends from Wargaming, the famous free-to-play online multiplayer with history’s greatest warships and finally, Triternion’s MORDHAU. This title is already well known for its multiplayer battles with up to 64 players in a medieval setting. In addition, one game will be awarded as “China’s Choice”, promoted by Sina Games and Weibo.

CEEGA is held during Poland’s game week alongside GIC and Poznan Game Arena on October 19th and stands out exemplary for CEE’s gaming industry cohesion. The Jury comprises 28 members from 14 countries, with two members being sent from each nation: one journalist and one industry professional. The region totals over 1000 game development studios and over 25.000 people producing games with many exciting success stories.
