WHIPLASH, the speedrunning FPS with overpowered builds, announced with free Steam demo

Indie developer Red Fox Studios today announced WHIPLASH, a speedrunning FPS where game-changing weapon mods turn ordinary guns into overpowered builds. Players can visit the WHIPLASH store page on Steam to download and play the demo today.
Watch the WHIPLASH teaser trailer here:
In WHIPLASH, the Corps is a military superpower on the cutting edge of robotic warfare. Their flagship soldiers, REAPERS, are trained through countless combat scenarios and gear configurations to move faster, fight smarter, and adapt to whatever equipment is available. As a REAPER, programmed to complete training by any means necessary, you'll choose weapons, modules, and utility items to clear each course as quickly as possible. Every course challenges you to rethink your route, your loadout, and your strategy.
Inspired by popular roguelike games such as Balatro where the goal is often to discover the most overpowered combinations possible, WHIPLASH weapon modules can be mixed, matched, and combined to create powerful builds that drastically change how your guns perform.
The free Steam demo available today gives players access to a substantial amount of content to explore, including multiple courses and a wide range of weapon and module combinations to experiment with. Players can compete on Global, National, and Friend leaderboards, and move up with each Personal Best. When WHIPLASH launches (currently scheduled for later this year), players will compete on randomized maps with daily and monthly challenges, unlocking new maps, weapons, and items through the Campaign, as well as cosmetic rewards.
