With Update 0.12.1, the Agility skill has been given a full upgrade, from new ways to improve the skill and gain XP, to new skill spell allocation, and more:

  • New Challenges and Rewards: Six new fixed-route Agility courses have been added with leaderboards for players to challenge for the fastest times and climb the ranks. Gold Medal times now come with new displayable gold medals, as well as Gold-Trimmed versions of the regional capes for mastering each course.

  • New Mechanics: Players can now add a horizontal dash to their double jump, with the ability to unlock a secondary horizontal dash at high levels. As well, they’ll gain passive XP while running around the world on foot. And finally, the update introduces a new breakfall mechanic for non-fatal falls, allowing players to tuck, roll, and keep moving.

  • New Skill Spells: Windstep is no longer a Runecrafting reward, but now an agility spell! As the spell is upgraded, players will create a shockwave on landing.

  • New Shortcuts: Discoverable throughout the world, players can dig up Kebbit Burrows, which open up tunnels allowing them quick access between burrow points across the map.

  • Improved Features: Players can now move more freely than ever before, with massively increased vertical jump height and improved air control, and reduced fall damage making traversal faster and more forgiving. As Agility levels increase, less stamina is consumed while sprinting. Higher skill levels also unlock increased carrying capacity, allowing players to haul more resources on their adventures.

In addition to improvements to the Agility Skill, the team has also deployed a number of core, UI, and skill upgrades, including improved responsiveness when blocking, damage telegraph time, and ammo switching functionality. Players will now also have reduced movement while casting certain spells, and the Mystic Forge will now allow players to upgrade Masterworks and Weapons to higher tiers.

What is RuneScape: Dragonwilds?

Completely separate from the beloved RuneScape MMORPG, and the first game from Jagex’ iconic mediaeval franchise to come to console, RuneScape: Dragonwilds is an open-world crafting and survival game that sends solo players or teams of up-to-four across Ashenfall, a previously unexplored continent in Gielinor. They’ll explore Ashenfall’s many varied and wondrous regions to uncover the source of a wild, transformative magic spreading across the fractured land. Harnessing the anima-rich landscape, players can wield powerful spells in combat and use magic to gather resources, craft gear and shelters, and aid their journey. Facing fierce dragons at every turn, players must level up skills, brew potions, and forge equipment as they battle their way toward the Dragon Queen herself.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is currently available on Steam Early Access, and will launch its 1.0 version for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on 15th September, 2026, alongside its release on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 (and on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers for subscribers), and Xbox Series X|S.
