You Were Never Alone: LAG KILLS Opens Round 2 of Public Playtesting

LAG KILLS, the upcoming indie survival horror game from developer DERANGED GAMES and publisher Zemore Indie Games, is officially launching round 2 of its public playtesting on Steam. Players can now request access directly through the game’s Steam page using the newly available “Request Access” button, with requests being approved this weekend.

Following strong interest during the first wave of testing, the second public playtest gives even more players the opportunity to step inside the nightmare and experience the game’s tension-driven horror firsthand.

In LAG KILLS, players take on the role of someone driven to desperate measures, breaking into a home in hopes of finding enough valuables to help cover their wife’s medical bills. But the house is far from empty, and once players enter, every decision becomes a fight to stay alive.

The homeowner is always nearby. Listening. Watching. Waiting.

Each creaking floorboard, opened drawer, and poorly timed mistake can quickly spiral into disaster as players attempt to search the house, avoid detection, and escape before it’s too late.

A Survival Horror Experience Built on Pressure

LAG KILLS combines stealth, psychological horror, and unpredictable AI behavior to create a constantly shifting experience where no two runs feel the same.

Players will:

  • Search the home for valuables while tension steadily rises

  • Hide, sneak, and stay silent to avoid detection

  • Face an adaptive AI threat that reacts dynamically to player behavior

  • Experience randomized encounters and unpredictable scares

  • Pet the cat… if they survive long enough

While the full release will feature optional online co-op, multiplayer will not be available during public playtesting.

Round 2 Begins Now

With the “Request Access” button now live on Steam, players can immediately sign up for a chance to join the latest public playtest phase and help shape the future of the game through feedback and community participation. A completely anonymous feedback form is linked within the game so that players can share their thoughts, suggestions, and bug reports.

The development team continues refining the experience based on player reactions, focusing heavily on atmosphere, tension, replayability, and emergent horror moments that players love sharing online.

Coming in 2026

LAG KILLS is currently in development for PC and is scheduled to release on Steam in 2026. Players can wishlist the game and request access to the ongoing public playtest now through the official Steam page.
