February Steam Next Fest: the last dance
After 4 years of development, Kritter: Defend Together release on March 10. The two co-founders, Tom and Bastien, have gone through many hardships, from funding and timeline challenges to marketing difficulties. Now feels like the right time to share this story with everyone, which they recently did in a video recapping the past four years. The video is currently sitting at 12k views on YouTube. (It is in French but includes English subtitles for accessibility.)
LJF Games is very eager to share this story, along with exclusive and unique content and information, with anyone interested in conducting an interview. Feel free to reach out by contacting the email below.
With an actual standing of 12,000 wishlists, the game is aiming big for this event and will go all in with various events and activations such as influence, but also a contest to thanks all the players who will play the demo during the Steam Next Fest.
The game is featuring a leaderboard, and it will be of use for this contest. Every player registered on the leaderboard before the end of the event will receive an exclusive in-game cosmetic and a key for the final version of the game if they make it into the top 10. As for the winner, he will get a unique cosmetic, only they will be able to enjoy.

Big Event, Big Goal.
Since the game is aiming big, the demo will follow its ambitions. A new update will go live during Steam Next Fest, giving players more information about what the final version will look like. With a permanent Steam broadcast throughout the event, everyone will be able to get additional information, even without playing the demo.
Kritter is aiming to be among the top demos in its genre and will do everything it can to reach this goal. Here are the changes that will be made to achieve it:
- The Ninja Class: The new melee class, faster than its peers. Already tested in Kritter’s latest influencer beta, it will now be available in the demo, dealing massive damage and striking enemies directly while dashing through them.

- Deep Customization: Players can now customize their Kritters with hats and various style options. Even M.Ark gets a makeover with flags and stylish antennae.
- Mission & Trophy System: Our existing post-run statistics system now fuels new missions, unlocking items, cosmetics, perks, and new rooms. Challenges continue to reward players with physical trophies in M.Ark and Steam Success (Achievements).
- Hardcore Mode: For players who find survival too easy, a new Hardcore mode introduces increased constraints and higher difficulty.
- Narrative & UI Polish: Meet Mini M.Ark, a tiny companion who unlocks "M.Ark Memories". The game now features full controller support for Steam Deck, PlayStation, and Switch, plus native AZERTY/QWERTY handling.
Bastien and Tom, co-founders of LJF Games, have high expectations for this event and are very excited about the upcoming release of their game.
“After 4 years of work, we are thrilled to be participating in our very first Steam Next Fest. Developing Kritter: Defend Together has been the greatest challenge of our lives, and we can’t wait to see how Steam players will welcome it.
Tom and I (Bastien) have been friends for two decades, and this game is the result of thousands of hours of work and all those years of friendship. We both love challenging games that bring more to the table than just gameplay. That’s what we aimed to achieve with this refreshing blend of action roguelite, base defense, and chaotic co-op.
We eagerly await player feedback during the festival and hope Kritter stands out as one of the top demos before soaring at launch on March 10.
Have fun playing Kritter, and good luck if you’re aiming for a top spot on the leaderboard”
Bastien, Co-Founder of LJF Games
