Blue Ridge Hunting Joins the Women-Led Games Showcase on December 10

Ever wondered what’s hiding beyond the treeline, just out of sight? Six One Publishing is excited to announce that Blue Ridge Hunting—the online co-op horror adventure in which players investigate, document, and hunt cryptids across the Appalachian Mountains—was featured in the Women-Led Games Showcase today.

As the Appalachian Investigation Group continues its search for the truth, players can support the team by wishlisting Blue Ridge Hunting on Steam and following the game on Kickstarter to be notified when the next campaign goes live.

Blue Ridge Hunting invites players to explore the Appalachian Mountains, home to some of America’s most iconic folklore and cryptid legends. Based on real sightings and stories from the region, investigators will use a range of tools and items to collect evidence, track creatures, and document their findings. Successful hunts earn money that can be used to purchase better gear—but remember, the woods are alive. Creatures react to proximity voice chat and radio communication, so coordination is vital… and dangerous.

When it launches, Blue Ridge Hunting will offer a full story mode following Levi Chambers, a West Virginia native haunted by lifelong encounters with the Mothman. Levi’s journey through Appalachia introduces players to memorable characters, terrifying creatures, and the deeper mysteries behind the legends.

The game explores themes of generational trauma, grief, and family through the lens of Appalachian folklore. Developer Jade Meadows created Blue Ridge Hunting as a love letter to the region’s culture, honoring both its resilience and its history.

Field Notes:

  • Found Footage: A gritty retro/PSX art style inspired by early 3D horror and analog media.

  • Always Listening: Creatures react to proximity voice chat and radio chatter—communication matters.

  • Into the Woods, Solo or Together: Explore Appalachia alone or with up to 5 players in online co-op freeplay mode.

  • Bump In The Night: A narrative-driven story (1–3 players) following the Appalachian Investigation Group’s hunt for the truth.

  • Experience The Legends: Face unique, intelligent creatures inspired by real Appalachian folklore.

  • Dark-Bluegrass Symphony: An original score blending haunting melodies with Appalachian roots.

Join the hunt and wishlist Blue Ridge Hunting on Steam. Prospective investigators can follow the Kickstarter campaign now to be notified when it goes live.
