Aarhus, Denmark - November 4, 2025

Two weeks after the release of the 1.0 version of Necesse, Fair Games have revealed status on the title, while already adding resources to the next range of updates.

  • Sales flew past the 2 million players mark

  • CCU record of 29440 exceeding the previous record of 12346.

  • Wishlist balance now past 800,000 - an increase of 300,000 over the past 2 weeks

Reception races past expectation

Developer had calculated Necesse to pass the 2 million units sold mark at the end of the year, and are happy to see the pickup being even stronger than expected.

Partner and COO at Fair Games, Christian Nyhus Andreasen, is happy about the reception:

I am overly impressed - We hope to create an Evergreen Title with Necesse, and are committed to keep building and expanding the game.
The players, veteran and new, are loving the new endless world, enthusiastically creating presets, guides and walkthroughs, Streamers are having fun in Co-Op and solo. The release just ticks all boxes. Mads (Fair) and I are very happy with the team behind the game - Necesse is the creation of everyone on the team - Be sure to check the credits! :D

With 1.0 out, not only Players and Streamers have a solid game to enjoy, also the Modders are also busy creating mods.

Gareth from the UK, also known as Eryr, has made the very popular Mod “Necesse Expanded”:

“As a modder, I am happy to see Necesse reach 1.0, and I'm looking forward to future updates. Making mods for Necesse is a pleasure, and I appreciate the feedback and kind words posted on the workshop.”

Another community pillar, Save, maker of the Aphorea Mod:

"When I started making Necesse mods, I never thought I would end up staying in the community for so long, but people were just too welcoming. The game was fun, though not amazing, so yes, I stayed only because the community was incredible. Today, more than a year and a half later, I can say that Necesse is one of my favorite games. Version 1.0 is brutally fun and exactly what the game needed. And the community is still as kind as ever; everything I have done has been for them."

About Modding. As with other games like Rimworld and Terraria, Modders are taking their love to make all sorts of mods for Necesse.

Currently more than 250 Mods are active for Necesse, making it possible to change gameplay, visual style, make new weapons, help sort inventory, manage settlers - and so on.

Just below 10% of the current players are launching with at least one active Mod. Some with as many as 25 Mods installed.
