Buddy Bug: A Tiny-World Action Roguelite Unveils Its First Public Demo

Wildfire Game, the developer behind Eastern Exorcist, together with Flawless Gaming, is thrilled to announce that the first public demo of Buddy Bug is now live on Steam.

Buddy Bug is a 2D action roguelite that shrinks players into a microscopic insect world hidden within a city corner. The demo currently supports single-player campaign and local co-op for up to two players, with online co-op planned for a future update, and will launch first on PC (Steam) with multi-language support.

This special demo build offers a self-contained adventure designed specifically for first-time players. Featuring a large, handcrafted stage that blends visual and gameplay elements from two major biomes of the upcoming full release.

In this demo, players can expect:
• Experiment with 4 distinct weapons and 10+ gadgets, each featuring unique elemental interactions.
• Face newly designed enemies in a rebalanced progression tuned for both accessibility and depth.
• Try out the new 'Specialization Class' system, which introduces multiple specialization paths for creative builds.

Explore the Microscopic Insect World
Set in a hidden corner of the human city, Buddy Bug reimagines everyday objects as colossal tools of survival. From modified lighters and bottle caps to thumbtacks and tennis balls, everything becomes a potential weapon or gadget once re-engineered by insect ingenuity.

The game’s combat centers around the interplay of physics reactions, elemental effects (Water, Oil, Electricity, Fire), and roguelite buildcrafting. Combining these three layers creates an endlessly replayable system where creative players can chain reactions, improvise strategies, and cooperate for chaotic fun.

Developer Comment
“With Buddy Bug, we wanted to blend tactile, physics-based combat with the excitement of co-op roguelite systems,” said the Wildfire Game team. “This demo introduces new enemies, new environments, and the first iteration of our Class system — it’s a taste of the playful chaos we aim for in the full release.”

The Buddy Bug Demo is free-to-play on Steam (Windows PC) and available now.
