POGO Stadium Launches in Early Access on Steam

Independent developer Kyoto Entertainment Works Inc. and publisher ruff Co. Ltd. are pleased to announce the Early Access release of their innovative rhythm-strategy game, POGO Stadium, now available on Steam for £10.99.

Set in a futuristic, neon-drenched city inhabited by animal athletes, POGO Stadium reimagines territory control—drawing inspiration from the board game Go—through beat-driven pogo-stick action. Featuring over 100 hand-crafted battle stages, a full solo challenge mode and deep customisation, players can now experience the full depth of this genre-blending competitive title.

Key Features in Early Access

Battle Mode

Over 100 uniquely designed stages serve as the arena for fast-paced, local multiplayer battles. Up to four players can compete using precise timing, strategic movement and the clever deployment of “Effector” attacks. No upgrades, no power-ups, only skill.

Solo Challenge Mode

Progress through 45 stages across nine thematic zones, each with increasingly intricate layouts. Players must balance reflexes with critical thinking to succeed.

Territory Control Meets Rhythm

Drop blocks in sync with the beat, sever floating platforms, and convert isolated areas into your own turf—all in real time. A fresh blend of musical timing and tactical decision-making.

Effector System

Equip powerful effects that disrupt opponents, redirect movement, or alter the terrain. Each loadout encourages experimentation and strategic play.

Distinct Characters and Custom Gear

Choose from six animated animal competitors, each with unique movement styles and emotes. Unlock new skins and gear by achieving in-game milestones and completing challenges.

Original Soundtrack by Shinobu Amayake

Renowned composer Shinobu Amayake, known for her work on Nintendo titles such as Stunt Race FX, Wario’s Woods, and Pokémon Ranger, provides a high-energy score that drives the rhythm-based gameplay.

“POGO Stadium has reached a point where it’s already enjoyable and competitive—and we’re eager to develop it further through Early Access,” states the development team at Kyoto Entertainment Works.

“We still have many ideas to explore: improved stage designs, new gameplay systems, and possibly online modes. Early Access allows us to share the experience earlier and evolve it alongside the community.”

“For new players, we recommend starting with the Solo Mode. It’s accessible at first, but quickly calls for sharper thinking. Discovering a winning strategy is genuinely rewarding.”

“The concept of rhythm-based territory control is already quite distinct—but what truly defines POGO Stadium is how the ground beneath you continually falls away. Players must think fast, adapt quickly, and stay in rhythm. It’s a mental challenge and action game combined.”

“If you enjoy games like Tetris, Puyo Puyo, or Minesweeper—titles where problem-solving under pressure matters—POGO Stadium will likely resonate with you.”
