Alchemy VTT Expands Partnership with Darrington Press to Launch Candela Obscura

 Alchemy, the virtual tabletop built for cinematic storytelling, has partnered once again with Critical Role’s publishing company, Darrington Press, to bring the Candela Obscura Core Rulebook to the Alchemy Marketplace.

Starting today, Alchemy users can explore Candela Obscura: a tabletop roleplaying game of occult investigation and creeping horror. In this narrative-focused game powered by the Illuminated Worlds System, players take on the roles of investigators working for a secret society sworn to confront supernatural threats while shielding the world from their reality.

The release includes both the standard module and the Alchemy Enhanced Edition, which transforms play with a collection of immersive tools designed specifically for this haunting setting. Enhanced assets include a 10-minute dynamic audio score that adapts to the scene’s mood, 10 ambient sound beds, 10 animated motion overlays, 11 ready-to-play prebuilt scenes, and a fully animated cover image—all crafted to deepen the tension and drama at the table.

Following the successful launch of Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn, this release marks the next step in an ongoing collaboration between Alchemy and Darrington Press to bring unforgettable roleplaying experiences to life through cinematic virtual tools.
