Coffee Talk Tokyo Demo Drops Today on Steam
Coffee Talk Tokyo, the follow-up to 2020’s Coffee Talk and 2023’s Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, releases its free demo today on Steam.
Coffee Talk Tokyo is the next installment in the much-loved Coffee Talk series of visual novel games, set in an alternate timeline to ours where humans and fantastical people come together. The player takes on the role of the mysterious barista, there to lend a sympathetic ear, give gentle words of advice, and serve a selection of delicious hand-crafted drinks.
The demo launch today comes on developer and publisher Chorus Worldwide's 11th anniversary. Celebrating this, Chorus is holding its biggest ever sale across Steam, Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.
Chorus Worldwide - which was named #3 in Metacritc's 2024 Game Publisher Rankings - is developing Coffee Talk Tokyo with the support of Toge Productions, the developer of Coffee Talk and Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly. Following on from those acclaimed and beloved games, Coffee Talk Tokyo acts as a spin-off, taking place in a new café in a new city, with all-new customers.
The demo launching today introduces fans to the new café and some of the new characters that will appear in the full game, including: Vin, the Barista's assistant learning to cope after a terrible accident; Jun, a successful musician struggling with a creative block; and Ayame, a ghost former It-girl trying to figure out her life and afterlife.
“Our team has been working hard to bring this first taste of Coffee Talk Tokyo to fans everywhere”, said Shintaro Kanaoya, CEO of Chorus Worldwide. “We're excited for players to come back to the Coffee Talk world in this new way and we hope it whets everyone's appetites for the full game later in 2025.”
“The whole team at Toge Productions are so happy to see Coffee Talk Tokyo's demo launch today” said Kris Antoni Hadiputra, CEO of Toge Productions. “The Chorus team has done an amazing job of faithfully recreating the Coffee Talk vibes while creating a new world and new customers to engage with. We can't wait to hear what players think.”
