MAKING MEANINGFUL CHANGE: THE WOMEN IN GAMES CAREERS, DEVELOPMENT & NETWORKING EXPO

Women in Games will host its next popular Careers, Development & Networking Expo on Thursday March 7th, a day ahead of International Women’s Day and taking place during Women’s History Month.

MAKING MEANINGFUL CHANGE: THE WOMEN IN GAMES CAREERS, DEVELOPMENT & NETWORKING EXPO

The virtual event is free to attend and will provide a day of learning, inspiration and the opportunity to meet with studios and other companies looking to hire new talent. The event will focus on Making Meaningful Change: No matter the scale, or the resources available, every kind of real-world action, especially when combined with a community-based approach, can lead to substantial and tangible results. Even one small step is a very real part of a journey.

Our speakers will provide examples of their own action-based strategies for achieving change in their workplaces, and in their personal career journeys.

The Expo offers a significant, positive opportunity to bring together our global community with games companies and fellow professionals. Building on what has become a unique tradition for its focus on women, and attracting a regular audience of 1,000 women and allies from all over the world, it serves as a supportive, celebratory, and secure space for making new connections or rekindling existing relationships. The Women in Games Careers, Development and Networking Expo provides community support, insight, inspiration and opportunities.

Speaker Sessions & Panels

Women and allies from around the world will share their journeys and stories, with sessions also giving attendees actionable takeaways to help them with their own career progression.

Expo Area

A virtual expo area will allow delegates to talk directly to studios and other games companies about their career opportunities and showcase how they are supporting women within their organisations. You can expect to see our expo partners host their own content in their booths, too, in the form of CV & Portfolio Reviews, Q&A sessions, Talks & Presentations, and more.

Networking
Building those all-important connections and relationships with other professionals is central to developing a strong reputation, increased visibility, a solid support network, improved business growth, and more impactful relationships.

Once registered with a ticket at the Careers and Networking Expos, attendees can set up direct meetings with delegates from all over the world throughout the day-long event.

Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman said: “The global games industry continues to face uncertainties. Some studios continue to institute change that can lead to redundancies and restructuring. But, at the same time, there are undoubted opportunities brought about by skill gaps, and some companies are eager to expand their teams to manage projects.

“The Women in Games Careers, Development & Networking Expo will address challenges head-on and explore opportunities, providing support and guidance to individuals affected by redundancies, and offering studios who wish to expand their teams a platform to connect with a wide and diverse range of potential employees.

“At the same time, in our Year of Action at Women in Games, we will not rest until women and girls are given equal opportunities and representation across the games industry, and are safe online, in the workplace and at in-person events.

“As we embark on this journey, we call upon the support of our community and allies. We invite anyone who shares our vision to get involved, contribute, and offer feedback. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can bring about real change.”
