PUBG GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 GRAND FINALS START TOMORROW

The 32 best PUBG Esports teams from around the world have been competing for the last two weeks for a spot in the PGC 2022 Grand Finals. After the Group Stage, Winners and Losers Brackets and the gruelling Grand Survival, here are the top 16 teams that have made it to the Grand Finals:
  • Europe: Natus Vincere, Twisted Minds, Question Mark, OVERPEEKERS, FaZe Clan, Entropiq
  • Asia: 17GAMING, KWANGDONG FREECS , Danawa e-sports, TakeMeAway Gaming
  • Americas: eUnited, Yaho, Wildcard Gaming
  • APAC: Daytrade Gaming, The Expendables, CERBERUS Esports

Six out of eight teams from Europe qualified for the Grand Finals.

Natus Vincere have had the strongest showing of any Europe team so far. After a dominant victory in the Group Stage, they went on to secure a narrow victory in the Winners Bracket, beating out APAC’s Daytrade Gaming by just 2 points! NAVI has always been known as one of the strongest European teams but to come first in both the Group Stage and Winners Bracket is unprecedented and arguably sets them up as potential favorites to win the tournament outright.

Right behind Natus Vincere are Twisted Minds who have qualified to the Grand Finals following a fifth place finish in both the Group Stage and Winners Bracket. Throughout the year, the team has garnered a reputation for being Europe’s most consistently high-placing team and the trend seems to have continued thus far at PGC 2022.

After their impressive PUBG Continental Series 7 (PCS7) victory, Question Mark qualified in the Group Stage with a respectable seventh place but were subsequently knocked out of the Winners Bracket. Just when it seemed like the team was faltering, the squad made a dramatic comeback and dominated Losers Bracket 2 with a first place finish and gained a well-earned spot in the Grand Finals.

OVERPEEKERS and FaZe Clan followed a somewhat similar trajectory towards the Grand Finals - after a mixed bag of successes and failures through the Group Stage and the Brackets Stages, they dominated matches 2 and 3 of the Grand Survival respectively and clinched the last few spots to the Grand Finals.

Winning PCS6 but failing to qualify for PCS7, Entropiq were in dire need of a redemption story coming into PGC, and they certainly got it in the end. Their spot at the Grand Finals was very uncertain right until the very last moments of the last match in the Grand Survival. But the team managed to overcome the odds, securing the last spot in the Grand Finals.
