2019 D.I.C.E. Summit



Registration for the 2019 D.I.C.E. Summit (#DICE19) is now open. The annual event returns to Las Vegas on Monday, February 11th through Wednesday, February 13th and is pleased to announce a new venue, the Aria Resort & Casino. Additionally, submissions are now open to the video game industry to submit the best games from 2018 to be celebrated next year at the 22nd Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, which takes place on the evening of Wednesday, February 13th with the afterparty to follow at Jewel Nightclub.

“D.I.C.E. offers an unparalleled exchange of ideas that will help shape the future of interactive entertainment as an industry and an artform,” said Meggan Scavio, President, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. “We are looking forward to continuing the tradition of celebrating video games throughout the week: on-stage with our speaker content, within the more intimate setting of our roundtables and workshops, and culminating on the D.I.C.E. Awards stage.”

2019 D.I.C.E. Summit

This year’s D.I.C.E. theme will explore the idea, Trailblazers. At D.I.C.E., game makers will share insights into the groundbreaking principals and tools that drive and empower them, their teams, and the community at large to create better worlds in which to play and a better world in which to live.

Unmatched networking opportunities are a hallmark of the D.I.C.E. Summit experience. This year’s networking events include Topgolf Las Vegas, Magic: The Gathering, go-karting, yoga, and poker tournaments, a full day of a single-track speaker program, the popular roundtable discussions, intimate workshop learnings, lunches and happy hours.

22nd Annual D.I.C.E. Awards
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), the video game industry’s professional trade organization representing over 30,000 development and creative members, has opened submissions for its 22nd Annual D.I.C.E. Awards (#DICEAwards). The D.I.C.E. Awards (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) serve to recognize excellence among peers currently working in games. The award ceremony will close the three-day D.I.C.E. Summit, on the evening of Wednesday, February 13th at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Every year, the D.I.C.E. Awards bestows honors for particular areas of craft in addition to the genre categories that define the year in games. Last year IGN hosted the 2018 D.I.C.E. Summit and Awards across 6 major platforms (+ OTT and apps), garnering almost 5mm video views.

Some highlights include recognition for the best in Art, Animation, Story, Music, Game Design and Game Direction as well as looking at emerging technologies such as Immersive Reality. The evening culminates with the Academy’s top honor, Game of the Year (GOTY). This award celebrates a single title that stands above every other game released with the strength of its craft, depth and innovation. Previous Game of the Year winners include: Zelda: Breath of the Wild(2018), Overwatch (2017), Fallout 4 (2016), Dragon Age: Inquisition (2015), and The Last of Us (2014).

To be eligible for submission, a game must have been released to the public between January 1st and Dec. 31st, 2018. Deadline for submission to the Academy is December 3rd at 5 PM PST.
