Air Combat Pilot: WW2 Pacific - Newly released mobile action/sim

eV Interactive has released Air Combat Pilot: WW2 Pacific, a genre-defining “action-sim” that delivers a perfect balance of fun and realism, immersing pilots in a graphically rich world with the most intense action seen in a mobile flight game.

Players master over a dozen iconic WW2 aircraft and unlock 100s of upgrades including rockets, bombs, guns, torpedoes, engines and armor. Air Combat Pilot is free-to-play and debuts with 160 objectives across 40 unique and challenging missions. More aircraft, missions and scenery introduced monthly.

More About The Game

Much more than a tap-and-swipe arcade shooter, but not a complex hard-core sim, Air Combat Pilot gives the player a compelling “feeling of flight” while keeping the controls easy and the gameplay action-oriented in a highly interactive game world. After a few simple training flights, players will be landing on carriers, making precision ground strikes and clearing the skies of enemy bombers.

Chicago indie studio head Matthew Harmon said: “We spent our time making the game ‘feel real’ while keeping it fun for a large audience of mobile players. Gameplay always comes first, but we also worked to maintain a reverence for the subject-matter.”

Players unlock over a dozen of the most iconic American aircraft from WW2, from the tame but maneuverable T-6 Texan to the mighty F4F Hellcat and F4U Corsair. Pilots will conduct amphibious ops in the PBY Catalina, and send the enemy to the bottom of the sea in the TBF-1 Avenger. Each aircraft has a host of upgradable options including engines, armor, guns and a lethal loadout of air-to-ground munitions.

Players push through the Pacific and conquer over 160 objectives across 40 designer-crafted missions in 8 unique worlds. With multiple ways to complete objectives, pilots will discover which planes and weapons work best for their style of play. Outside of their career, pilots fly Scramble missions for endless combat action. They can even relax and explore beautiful vistas in Free Flight mode.

Air Combat Pilot is a free-to-play game supported by in-app purchases with no annoying “wait to play” mechanic.

Harmon added: “After having worked on some classic flight games in the past, we are very excited about Air Combat Pilot. It is a real return-to-roots for us.
